Rett-Venture with Ifenne
Adventures That Say: We Can
Individuals with Rett syndrome may not lead a "typical" life, but they can lead an incredible one.
That's the heart of Rett-Ventures, a series that follows Magnolia — "Maggie" to her family and friends — a 14-year-old with Rett syndrome, as she and her family head out on adventures with other families living with Rett.
In this video, Maggie is joined by Ifenne, a fellow Rett Rockstar from right here in Colorado, for a day on the ropes course at the Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center (BOEC). The course is specially adapted for people of all abilities, so everyone gets to climb, swing, and take on the same challenges. Ifenne is a patient at the Rett Clinic at Children's Hospital Colorado, the same clinic RMRA proudly helps fund.
This Rett awareness series was created by AJ and Jenny Tesler, Magnolia's parents, and is supported by Acadia Pharmaceuticals Inc. AJ and Jenny started telling Magnolia's story to raise awareness for Rett syndrome, and Rett-Ventures grew out of that same mission — showing families everywhere what's possible.
It's a good reminder of what we're all about here. Whether you're on the water with a fly rod or up on a ropes course, doing what you love is one of the best ways to help someone else.
